INNOVATE SHAKARIM UNIVERSITY, held on May 4, 2025, became a forum that allowed participants to glimpse the future of the region through the eyes of the youth. It was a meeting point of dreams, energy, and real professional choices.

For many high school students, university students, and master’s applicants, the forum offered a unique opportunity to explore the university from within — to experience its scientific, academic, and practical life.

And for current students, it was a chance to show their growth, share their journey, and inspire others.

Among those representing the university was Nurbоl Smailov, a first-year student majoring in Veterinary Medicine, who in just one year had transformed from an applicant into an active member of university life.

“I grew up around animals, watched how they were cared for,” Nurbоl says. “When it came time to choose a university, I chose Shakarim University. Everything here is exciting! The professors are amazing, I have many friends here, and most importantly — we get a lot of hands-on practice. We study muscles, internal organs — everything a future veterinarian needs.”

Nurbоl already has a clear vision of his academic path: first a master’s degree, then possibly a PhD.

“Loving animals is one thing. But caring for them, treating them, and being responsible for them is something entirely different. You need knowledge and skill.”

He believes the forum plays a powerful motivational role:

“This forum gives a huge boost to those who are still deciding. They can see what we do, what we learn, and what we are capable of. This is where talents are discovered. I feel proud to be here — because I show my work. That’s how we attract future students.”

It’s only been a year since he joined the university — but for Nurbоl, and for Shakarim University, it’s been a year of growth.

“Shakarim University has grown. And I’m growing with it.”
